Abstract: Over the past three years, artificial intelligence—particularly driven by large language models (LLMs)—has advanced rapidly, achieving notable progress in practical applications. In response to the pressing demands from both national development and industrial upgrading, a growing number of universities in China have established schools, departments, and majors dedicated to artificial intelligence. However, the boundaries between artificial intelligence and traditional computer science remain indistinct. This article first examines the definition and core components of artificial intelligence and then clarifies its relationship with computer science as a discipline. Finally, it offers recommendations for the future development of artificial intelligence and computer science programs, with the aim of providing a reference for subsequent research in this area.
