Towards Intelligent Software in the Socio-Cyber-Physical Ubiquitous Computing Era: Challenges and Opportunities

  • Software paradigms are foundational to the computer software discipline. The Socio-Cyber-Physical ubiquitous computing environment establishes new computing platforms and application requirements for software systems. Meanwhile, the AI-generated models are becoming critical components, integrating with human-written programs. This trend is giving rise to the emergent—intelligent software and leading to the shift towards a new software paradigm. Focusing on the foundations of this new software discipline, including programming models, engineering approaches, runtime platforms, and quality assurance, this position article analyzes the major challenges and scientific problems faced by intelligent software and discusses key opportunities for its future development.
