Deep Diving into Intelligent Vulnerability Offense and Defense—An Interview with Chao Zhang, the Winner of CCF-IEEE CS Young Computer Scientist Award

Zhang Chao has long been engaged in the field of intelligent software vulnerability discovery and protection. In the interview, he systematically elaborated on the core challenges in this field, and introduced the technical path formed by the team through three stages (manual, automatic, and intelligent). In addition, regarding issues such as balancing scientific research, talent training, and the pressure on young researchers, he emphasized the research philosophy centered on interest and oriented towards solving real problems, providing valuable experience for young scholars to cope with “involution” and maintain research enthusiasm.
